Midnight Motif is about geometric patterns that are soulful and characterful. We take great joy in producing beautiful and inspiring patterns that will embellish and elevate your creative projects – graphic design, fashion design, interior design, sewing projects or home decoration – and life.

HOW THE PATTERNS ARE MADE

Our patterns, for the most part, are made in a very unconventional fashion using the very intuitive online pattern maker app Repper and design industry’s beloved Procreate.

The process often starts in Procreate where art is made before being uploaded to Repper. Once in Repper, the pattern creation process becomes a case of fine tuning and configuring various features to arrive at the pattern we desire. This makes for a pattern design process that is light weight, free flowing, intuitive and fast.

Sometimes, the final collection is arrived at with the help of other tools such as Affinity Photo or Affinity Designer.

THE DESIGNER BEHIND THE BRAND

Behind the brand is Alex, a UK based creative soul who loves exploring the world of pattern design. No matter what creative project she works on, she loves arriving at something delightful to the eye.

She particularly loves the Repper pattern design process because it is light weight and inspiring. Though Repper pattern making breaks from the traditional method of surface pattern design and keeps the process fairly easy, fast and intuitive, she loves the creative process of art making in Procreate for upload in Repper and the fine tuning involved overall in Repper pattern making.
